Barbara Ann Corcoran

Barbara Ann Corcoran is an American businesswoman from America. The Corcoran Group was a New York City real estate brokerage she established. NRT purchased it for $66 million in 2001. Corcoran eventually left the company. Corcoran is one of ABC’s first Shark Tank investors. As of now she has appeared on every 12 seasons of Shark Tank. Corcoran had signed 53 contracts in February of 2020. Her largest deal was her $350,000 investment in Coverplay with a 40% stake. Corcoran was born in Edgewater (New Jersey) as the second child of ten in a Catholic Irish working class family. Florence was her mother, who was an errand-taker. Her father, Edwin W. Corcoran Jr. moved between jobs throughout Corcoran's childhood. At times, the family depended on free food delivery from a local, friendly grocery store. Corcoran recalls her father as one who sometimes consumed too much alcohol and was rude to her mother and contempt, particularly when he'd been drinking. Corcoran struggled throughout her schooling, later learning that she had dyslexia. Corcoran went to an Catholic elementary school in her community and began high school in St. Cecilia High School, Englewood. Corcoran was proficient in several classes during her freshman year. She transferred to Leonia High School and graduated with a grade of D.
