Kamala Harris

Kamala Devi Harris (born October 20th 1964) was an American politician, attorney, and the current vice president of United States. She is the first vice president to be female and the most powerful female official in U.S. history, as also the first African American and first Asian American vice president. She is a senator and former senator from California. Harris was born in Oakland and attended Howard University, University of California, Hastings College of the Law. Harris began her career at the Alameda County District Attorney's Office prior to being enlisted into the San Francisco District Attorney's Office and later the City Attorney of San Francisco's office. In 2003, she became the San Francisco district attorney. She was elected Attorney general of California in 2010. In 2014, she was elected to a second term. Harris was the junior United States Senator from California between 2017 and 2021. Harris beat Loretta Martinez in 2016's Senate election, becoming the 2nd African American woman and first South Asian American senator to be elected to the United States Senate.
